2 More (Oh, I know, don't start) Pallet Shelves

Raise your hand if you would like to stop hearing about wood pallets...

this is me ignoring you...

hee hee

OK- I just had to share these two chalkboard pallet shelves I made and then I promise to hush up about the pallets for a while (like at least 2 weeks).

I painted a snazzy chalkboard on the front

and added a little jar to the front too.

I painted this one white and added a chalkboard

and a hook

This one is REALLY roughed up!

So promise, really, promise, I am cut off from my pallets for 2 weeks!

BUT, I had a dream last night and it featured a new pallet project (I have issues)...that I have never seen anywhere else before...so it will probably be seen here in like....2 weeks.

Kitchen Organizer

I picked up this lovely little wooden box thingey at ARC for $1.99

I was inspired by my new IKEA dishtowels (tucked into that little opening) and painted it to coordinate.

One coat of black, two coats of white, then a bright red for the accents. Then this monster got taken to task with the sandpaper.

It seemed the perfect size to hold some kitchen stuff.

Buckeye Mercantile is just something I made up

FYI, that 3 piece wooden cooking set from IKEA is 49cents!

My new little friend will be heading over to my ETSY shop...my husband feels our home is being overtaken with "stuff." So if I wish to continue making things, I need to unload some stuff too.

As long as I get to have fun, whatever is fine by me!

Double Word Score

Since I had the carbon paper out,  I decided to whip up a few Scrabble Tile Wall Plaques.

Check over here to find out the technique I used with the carbon paper...it is SO easy!

This was the scrap wood from Home Depot. Have you heard of the scrap wood pile? Well, let me tell you, this is the place to go!

This pile is usually located near that big old cutting machine. The pieces also have a spray paint mark on them. There is every size imaginable. I have snagged some really good and really large pieces of wood, as well as smaller pieces the perfect size for signs.

AND

The pieces are like 20 cents each

The reason I don't know for sure, is that they always just let me take them for free. I usually buy a few other things and the cashier just smirks at me when she gives me the total.

I can't guarantee you will get the scraps for free, but I will guarantee they cost next to nothing anyway and you should always head over there first:)

Now I Know My ABC's...

We have 4 step stools in this house, and somehow it still doesn't seem to be enough.

I need one in every bathroom and the kitchen. Mostly for potty emergencies and so these kids can wash their hands without mama's help.

Here is the Modern ABC step stool.

All the cool kids have 'em.

The little knobs are very handy for dragging it from bathroom, to closet, to pantry ( to reach something they aren't supposed to have!).

This fun little piece is going in my ETSY shop.

It opens tomorrow!

Just a reminder!

In case I forgot to mention it!

Lil' Buckaroo Western Step Stool

I may need to start making these for a living!
Ha Ha

I had so much fun creating this step stool for our friends' new little girl. They live in Bozeman, MT, in a fab and rustic log home they designed. I wanted the step stool to be fun, but still fit in with their decor.

I found the bandana tissue paper,

which led to the end caps,

which led to the rustic finish,

   which led to the horseshoes!

Then I needed a little something on top and a monogram made it personal!

I really love it and my kids are crying that they want to keep it. I have a ton more ideas from the inspirations I found here, so maybe I need to make one for each of them too!

OR

I could make a few and put them in my ETSY shop! Help me,

1. How much would you pay?

2. What designs or themes do you think would be popular?

I can't believe how much time it is taking to get everything ready for the store opening on September 1. I have tons of articles printed out for reading on our vacation next week. Along with a million magazines and my new reads Honolulu and The Book of Awesome! I can't wait!

P.S. If you haven't entered the giveaway for the Shabby Apple dress, head on over before September 1!
