Earth Day Thursday- Reusable Baggies-DIY

I stumbled upon this amazing post and blog last week

Jen is "green", really "green," but she revealed a dirty little secret.....
zip-loc baggies

I also, am guilty of throwing in the super sized box at Costco, so her post really jumped out at me.
I will wash and reuse those suckers like nobody's business, but if they were not in my drawer when I needed one, I would probably cry.
If you have little kids, you probably use baggies, unless you are super woman, in which case I am in awe!

But, I have so many little this and thats all day long, unfinished pb & j, two leftover  orange slices, my daughters "treasures" (read trash) she finds on our walks, etc. I have tons of storage containers, but no matter how many I buy, there always seem to be none, when I need them.

Since Jen is not ready to break herself of this terrible habit, and frankly neither am I, she decided the first step is to wean herself down and use less.

She found a wonderful way to create her own reusable baggies with plastic grocery sacks, wax paper, an iron, and some thread!

There is some sewing involved, which scares me, since I am a complete waste with the sewing machine, but she has assured us it is EASY and could be hand stitched if you do not want to use a machine!

These handy little bags fit perfectly alongside their dastardly counterparts and are just as convenient and user friendly!

Head on over and read her SUPER EASY tutorial on how to make some of these bags for yourself!

I think I found our April Craft Night Theme-Yay!
Thanks, Jen!
